Olakunle Oladunni Churchill is a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, recognized for his contributions to various sectors, including real estate, agriculture, mining, and entertainment. He is the founder of Churchill Group and Churchill Foundation, both of which have made significant impacts in Nigeria and beyond.

Olakunle Oladunni Churchill Early Life and Education:

Churchill was born and raised in Ondo State, Nigeria. His educational journey began at Canon Adeyemi Nursery and Primary School in Ondo State, followed by Apata Memorial High School in Isolo for his junior secondary education. He completed his senior secondary education at Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Abeokuta.

Olakunle Oladunni Churchill Career:

Initially, Churchill had the opportunity to join the Nigerian Defence Academy but chose to pursue a career in information technology instead. He became a computer engineer and started his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 23 in Ghana, founding Big Churchill, a company focused on real estate and ICT. In 2010, Churchill expanded his business interests, founding the Churchill Group, which diversified into sectors such as agriculture, mining, engineering, and entertainment. Later, he established the Churchill Foundation, a charitable organization funded by 10% of his company revenues.

 Olakunle Oladunni Churchill Philanthropy:

Churchill Foundation has been instrumental in supporting orphanages, the underprivileged, and students in Nigeria through scholarships. The foundation’s notable contributions include providing relief materials to victims of the Kada river massacre in Kagoro, Kaduna State, and producing a film based on the tragedy. Other philanthropic efforts include donating an ambulance, fire extinguishers, and fire blankets to the Nigeria Federal Fire Service, as well as providing land to the finalists of Big Brother Naija Season 2. In 2019, the foundation launched the “Say No To Poverty” project in Ondo State, aiming to empower over 1,000 youths from each of Nigeria’s 36 states.

Olakunle Oladunni Churchill Awards and Recognition:

Churchill’s humanitarian and entrepreneurial efforts have earned him several accolades, including the Nigeria Goodwill Ambassador Award in 2015, an honorary doctorate degree in communication from ISCG University in 2016, and recognition at the La Mode Magazine Green October Event. He has also received chieftaincy titles from communities in Nigeria and Liberia and awards such as the African Youth and Governance Champion Award and the Humanitarian Award at the AfroGlobal Television Excellence Awards.

Olakunle Oladunni Churchill Marriage to Tonto Dikeh:

Churchill’s personal life gain media attention due to his marriage to Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh. The couple met in 2014 and married in August 2015. They had a son together in 2016 but divorced in 2017.

Olakunle Oladunni Churchill Personal Life:

Raised by his grandmother in Ondo State, Churchill is also known for being the adopted son of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
