JUST IN: Cosmas Maduka Describes Peter Obi as Light, Tinubu as Darkness in Bold Comparison
Renowned Nigerian businessman and founder of Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, has strongly dismissed media claims suggesting that Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, would have mismanaged funds recovered from fuel subsidy removal just like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during an interview on the Selahmeditate Podcast, Dr. Maduka said comparing Obi to Tinubu is “absolutely nonsensical,” stressing that both men do not share the same leadership qualities. According to him, Obi’s leadership is centered on the welfare of the people, unlike what is currently being experienced.
He boldly described Obi as “light” and Tinubu as “darkness,” citing the former Anambra governor’s track record of fiscal discipline and administrative competence both in public service and business.
“If Peter had become our president, he would have removed the subsidy too,” Dr. Maduka said. “But the question is, what would he do with the money saved from subsidy? Will he use it for poverty alleviation? Will he use it to buy a private jet or squander it? The answer is no!”
He continued, “Why should I compare light and darkness? Why should I compare what exists and what does not exist? On what basis should I compare our current president, Tinubu, with Peter Obi?”
Dr. Maduka’s remarks have sparked reactions across social media, with many praising his courage to speak openly about Nigeria’s leadership challenges.
