BRIEF ON OSUN-LOYE and OSUN OSHOGBO

BRIEF ON “OSUN-LOYE” and “OSUN OSHOGBO”!

The history of OSUN deity at “AGBOJA STREAM” is as old as history of Ijebu land(note that Ijebu land was criminally changed to Ijebu-Jesa by European rogues in 1928) in the Southern Sahara. The Ijebu land that was founded many centuries ago from Ufe Oodaye!

While the marriage between OLUWORAN- Alagbede Oke Ogun and one Atiba Princess about 15th century ago took OSUN-LOYE to Oke Ogun. Whereas, there ‘re three (3) main shrines at Oke Ogun (Osun-Loye; Esu Deity and Ogun Deity) owned by Atiba!

When someone research further about the existence of “OROKI Groove” at the upper hill of nowadays ODOGO Kingdom and relate the history with the marriage between NIKILA (head of group from ARAMOKO now called Itegun) and OSUN-YINMI (the daughter of AJABITA son of Oluworan/OSUN-GBURE of Atiba princess) the parents of AJIFOLOKUN, with the aftermath of the crisis in Ijebu Egboro before the migration of people from IJEBU (especially from OROKI hill) in 16th century ago.

We must not never forget that OSHOGBO history dated back to 1670s!

Now, as the world continues to celebrate the OSUN deity as “OSUN OSHOGBO” as UNESCO sponsored project; unfortunately, ‘OSUN DEITY’ had lost glory and heritage recognition at its root Base…..Ijebu Egboro!!!!!!
