Tinubu Nominates Emeka Atuma as Chairman of South East Development Commission
State House, Abuja —
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Hon. Emeka Atuma as the Chairman of the South East Development Commission (SEDC). This nomination, along with others, has been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.
Hon. Mark C. Okoye has been appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the commission. Other nominees for the SEDC Governing Board include:
Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah
Hon. Okey Ezenwa
Chief Hyacinth Ikpor
Hon. Donatus Eyinnah Nwankpa
Barr. Ifeanyi Agwu, Ph.D.
Nasiru Usman
Hamma Adama Ali Kumo
Additional appointments include Edward David Onoja, Orure Kufre Inima, and Chief (Mrs.) Joke Adebayo-Chukwuma. Key executive positions announced are Prince Obinna Obiekweihe as Executive Director (Projects), Senator Anthony O. Agbo as Executive Director (Finance and Administration), and Dr. Daniel Ikechukwu Ugwuja as Executive Director (Corporate Services).
President Tinubu highlighted the importance of the SEDC in fostering development in the South East region. He expressed confidence that the nominees would leverage their experience to actualize the commission’s mandate and drive sustainable growth in the region.
The appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
