Early Life
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Adebayo moved to England at the age of six.
His brother, Diran Adebayo, is a novelist, and his nephew, Tobi Adebayo-Rowling, is a professional footballer.
He attended Woodlands Park Junior School and Stationers’ Company’s Comprehensive School in North London, later studying Literature at Stockholm University, where he also had a reggae segment on Sveriges Radio P3.
He completed a degree in Philosophy at the University of Essex, where he was president of the University of Essex Students’ Union.

Career Highlights
Acting: Adebayo had roles in productions such as The Oblong Box (1969) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971).
Broadcasting: He joined the BBC at age 12 and later became a prominent radio presenter, including his work on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Up All Night.
Writing: Adebayo’s published books include Can I Have My Balls Back Please? and Sperm Bandits, and he is working on his first novel Promised Land.
Television: He has appeared on shows like The Devil’s Advocate and Heavy TV, as well as hosting White Girls Are Easy on Channel 4.

MBE: Adebayo was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2009 for his services to broadcasting and publishing.
He was invited to Buckingham Palace in 1999 to meet Queen Elizabeth II.

Personal Life
Adebayo is married to singer Carroll Thompson, with whom he has two daughters.
He is a supporter of Charlton Athletic Football Club.
