Biography of Oluwafemi Abayomi Alaba “Femi” Ilesanmi

Oluwafemi Abayomi Alaba “Femi” Ilesanmi (born 18 April 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for National League club Boreham Wood.

Early Life and Background
Femi Ilesanmi was born in Southwark, London, to Nigerian parents.

Club Career
AFC Wimbledon and Queens Park Rangers
Ilesanmi began his football journey in the youth system at AFC Wimbledon. Despite his age, he made appearances for the reserve team and debuted for the first team at 16 in an Isthmian League Cup match against Whyteleafe in October 2007.

In 2008, he joined Queens Park Rangers (QPR), playing for their under-18 and reserve teams during his one-year stint at Loftus Road. He was released in 2009.

Ashford Town (Middlesex)
After leaving QPR, Ilesanmi signed with Ashford Town (Middlesex) in February 2010. During his short time there, he made 12 appearances and scored two goals, including a memorable one from an attempted cross in a match against Harrow Borough. Unfortunately, despite his contributions, Ashford Town was relegated at the end of the season.

Dagenham & Redbridge and Loan to Histon
His performances at Ashford attracted the attention of Dagenham & Redbridge, who signed him in May 2010. While at Dagenham, he spent three months on loan at Conference Premier club Histon.

Ilesanmi spent four years with Dagenham & Redbridge, gaining valuable experience in League One.

York City
In May 2014, Ilesanmi joined York City, where he played for two seasons before being released.

Current Role
Ilesanmi continues to build his career as a defender for Boreham Wood in the National League, bringing years of experience from across English football’s tiers.
