Morell Announces 2025 Album Release, Highlights Northern Music Industry Potential

Renowned Northern Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Morell, has revealed plans to release a highly anticipated music album in 2025. The Borno State-born artist disclosed in a recent interview that he has been meticulously working on the project for over a year.

“I have an album coming, though I haven’t given it a title yet, but I have been working on it since last year. So far, I have completed 12 tracks and I’m planning to add three more to make it 15,” Morell shared.

Morell also reflected on the opportunities within Northern Nigeria’s music scene, emphasizing that artists from the region can achieve success without relocating to Lagos. He expressed confidence in the talent and resources available in the North, stressing the increasing recognition of their contributions to societal development.

In 2024, Morell expanded his creative ventures into acting, landing his first lead role in the movie Loving Hanan, directed by Dimbo Atiya of Sons of the Caliphate fame. The film is slated for release later this year.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Morell’s forthcoming album, expecting a rich fusion of Hausa and English lyrics that have defined his unique sound in the Nigerian music industry over the years.
