Ọ̀YỌ́: A BEACON, NOT A BOUNDARY

Ọ̀YỌ́: A BEACON, NOT A BOUNDARY

Too often, when we celebrate Ọ̀yọ́, some hear exclusion. But hear this loud and clear:

Ọ̀yọ́ is not just a place on the map — it’s a symbol. A legacy. An empire that stood tall and lifted the identity of the Yorùbá people with pride, power, and purpose.

We see the richness of every Yoruba kingdom. From Ìjẹ̀bú to Ẹ̀gbá, Ìjẹ̀ṣà to Òwù — all have stories worth telling. But honoring Ọ̀yọ́ is not dimming others. It’s like lighting a torch from a blazing fire — not to overshadow, but to ignite.

Ọ̀yọ́ stood for unity. For diplomacy. For military excellence. For spirituality. The voice of the Aláàfin echoed across nations. That legacy deserves respect, not rivalry.

Let every Yoruba land rise and tell its story. But let no one rewrite Ọ̀yọ́ out of the epic.

This is not competition — this is collective pride.

Ọ̀yọ́ kò ní bàjẹ́!
Long live the Aláàfin.
Long live Yorùbá heritage.
