OYSHIA MAPS OUT STRATEGIES TO ENROLL 50,000 BENEFICIARIES

The Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) has mapped out strategies to commence the enrollment of 50,000 beneficiaries under the SAFERCARE scheme
The exercise according to Executive secretary OYSHIA Dr Olusola Akande will begin from June 2 to June 6 across all local government areas in the state.

Addressing participants at the second phase of the stakeholders’ engagement, the Executive Secretary, OYSHIA, Dr. Olusola Akande, explained that the SAFERCARE scheme is designed to provide quality healthcare services to vulnerable groups, including children under five years, pregnant women, and the elderly.

According to him, the enrollment process will enable more people across the State to access quality healthcare at no cost within their local communities.

Dr. Akande also described the SAFERCARE programme as a significant demonstration of the commitment of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration to improving the health and well-being of citizens.

He further revealed that Governor Makinde has approved the employment of 4,000 health workers to strengthen service delivery across the state’s primary healthcare system.

Also speaking at the event, the Director of Special Duties at the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Abiodun Akande, encouraged residents of the state to take full advantage of the SAFERCARE programme and develop trust in the state’s healthcare system, which he said is being repositioned to better serve the people.
