Ọ̀RÚNMÌLÀ AND HIS SONS
According to our oral tradition, our sage Ọ̀rúnmìlà had eight sons when he was at Otù Ifẹ̀:
Alárá
Ajerò
Ońtagi
Ọlọ́yẹ́-moyin
Ẹlẹ́jẹ̀lú-mòpé
Alákegi
Ọwáràngún
Ọlọ́wọ̀
Here is how it is rendered in the Odù
ÌWÒRÌ MÉJI
Apá níí gbókoó tan iná osó;
Orúrù níí wèwù èję kanlę;
Ilệ ni mo tẹ̀ tệẹ̀ tẹ̀,
Kí ntóó topón;
Opè tééré erékè
Níí yà sí ya búkà mérindínlógún;
A díá fún Ọ̀rúnmìlà
Wón ní baba ò níí bímọ sótù Ifè yí.
Mo gbó títí,
Mo rín wọn rín wọn.
Ìgbà tí ó kọ́ bí,
Ó bí ọmọ-ni-mo-bí-tán- ni-mo-fí-ńşará;
Õun ni wón fi joyè Alárá
Igbà tí ó tùún bí,
Ó bí Òràn-ọmọ-tájorò;
Õun ni wón fi joyè Ajerò.”
Igbà tí ó tùún bí,
Ó bí Qmo-ni-mo-bí-tán- ni-mo-funfun-lára-gbęrugbéru.
Õun ni wón fi joyè Qlóyémoyin.
Ìgbà tí ó tùún bí,
Ó bí Qmo-ni-mo-bí-tán- ni-mo-kégikégi;
Oun ni wón fi joyè Alákegi.
Igbà tí ó tùún bí,
Ó bí Qmo-ni-mo-bí-tán- ni-mo-ńségií-tà-lójà-Ejigbòmękùn;
Oun ni wón fi joyè Ońtagi olélé.
Igbà tí ở tùún bí, Ở bí Qmo-ni-mo-bí-tán-
ni-mo-úféluú-tà-lójà-Ejigbòmękùn; Oun ni wón fi joyè Eléjęlúmòpé.
Igbà tí ó tùún bí, Ở bí lgbà-tí-mo-bímo-tán- ni-òràn-mí-tóó-gún-gégé;
Oun ni wón fi joyè Qwáràngún-àga.
Igbà tí ó tùún bí,
Ó bí lgbà-tí-mo-bímo-tán- ni-won-nfọ̀wọ̀-ọmọọ̀-mí-wọ̀-mí;
Oun ni wón fi joyè Ọlọ́wọ̀ lótù Ifẹ
Almost all these 8 children are first class king in Yorùbá land till present. Though some have gone into extinction with their town, perhaps during the war that ravaged Yorùbá land for hundreds of years.
