Who is Scared of Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju?
Recent desperate attacks against Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju have revealed a deep-seated fear among his political detractors. The most absurd of these tactics is the emergence of “faceless” groups, shadowy organizations that exist only on paper, arrogantly “begging” Hon. Ibrahim not to contest. While these groups attempt to play smart, their sponsors are well-known, and their intentions are transparent: they are terrified of a fair contest.
The restlessness in the opposition camp is understandable. They know that Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju remains one of the finest representatives to ever grace the Green Chamber on behalf of the Moba, Ido-Osi, and Ilejemeje federal constituency. His profile is a formidable barrier to those with selfish interests:
A seasoned Lawyer with the analytical mind to navigate complex legislation, A track record of performance that speaks louder than any sponsored press release, A rare blend of grassroots connection coupled with national and international stature.
He remains the most popular choice among the people he serves.
The “weak justification” offered by these pseudo-groups, that Hon. Ibrahim should not contest because he serves as an aide to the President, is not only logically flawed but intellectually dishonest.
If being a Presidential Aide is a disqualifier, why is the criticism directed solely at Hon. Ibrahim? Why is there a deafening silence regarding others in the same position, such as Sunday Asefon, who is also a Presidential Aide? This selective begging exposes the truth: this isn’t about principle; it’s about fear.
Why would an unknown group, sponsored by aspirants with records of poor performance, be so desperate to keep one man off the ballot? The answer is simple: they cannot defeat him at the polls, so they are trying to “beg” him out of the race.
Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju’s enviable records are a threat to mediocrity. To those asking why he is being targeted, the answer is clear: You only throw stones at the tree that bears the best fruit.
