COPPER BULLETS AFCON ELIMINATION ANALYSIS ✍️
First of all, my blame for this elimination goes to the Technical Bench..
1. GIVING OPPONENTS TOO MUCH RESPECT
– As a Coach the moment you instinct fear in your squad, player’s morale is always below par.
– Getting on the pitch with a defensive mindset is and will never be a morale booster
2. TACTICS
– The Technical Bench tactics at the African Cup of Nations was way too poor. Zambia played poor football than any other nation at the Tournament.
– Playing players that can’t deliver, leaving out players who are actually capable of doing the job.
3. READING OF THE MATCH
– No solution or whatsoever coming from the bench, the Technical Bench seem to be blank immediately the first Whistle is blown.
– No reaction from the bench, No Movement, No Instructions, just kicking the ball Forward and waiting for a Miracle. Football doesn’t work like Magic. You play, you enjoy yourself!
4. SUBSTITUTIONS
– Why make substitutions when it’s too late? If nothing worked in the first half, why wait until the 75 minute mark to make your substitution?
5. FIRST LINEUP SELECTION
– Zambia have the players that can actually play, go toe to toe with every opponent.
– The Technical Bench really disappointed me on this! You have players like Miguel Chaiwa, Clatous Chama, Edward Chilufya, Lameck Banda, Kennedy Musonda, Patson Daka, Fashion Sakala, Kelvin Kampamba etc who are all attacking and versatile players and can make a very big Difference! But you pick your first lineup of the Tournament with 5 defenders?
Defensive Football puts pressure on your Team! The more you defend the more your opponent gains courage and grow confidence..
The more you are played, the more your players worn-out and lose focus..
