Nestled in the Oyi Local Government area of Anambra State, Ogbunike is a captivating facet of the Onitsha metropolitan city. Positioned at coordinates 6.40°E longitude and 6.20°N latitude, it stretches between kilometers 11.3 and 14.5 along the old Onitsha-Enugu road, intersected by the new Onitsha-Enugu expressway at the North border.

Adjacent to Ogidi, which hosts the International building materials market, Ogbunike is emerging as the third major industrial town in Anambra State after Onitsha/Ogbaru and Nnewi. Notably, Ogbunike hosts a plastic products market and a Containers bounded terminal. Socialite Obi Cubana recently acquired a substantial land for his shopping mall in Ogbunike.

Since the 1953 national census, Ogbunike has experienced a significant population surge, totaling 5,366 inhabitants then. By 1993, the figures had surged by 42%, illustrating the town’s dynamic growth.
