DOUYE DIRI swears-in Professor Ayawei as new Bayelsa SSG.

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today at the State Executive Council Chambers in Government House, Yenagoa, swore in Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei as the new Secretary to Bayelsa State Government.

In a remark, Gov. Diri said he is very confident Prof. Ayawei will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the service of the state as SSG.

“The importance of the office of SSG can’t be overemphasized. As we are all aware, he is the Chief administrative officer of the state. And shall be responsible for the coordination of activities of all the ministries, departments and agencies. He will head and manages the cabinet and secretariat and monitors and coordinates the implementation of government policies and programmes”, Gov. Diri stated.

Until his appointment, the new SSG was the Chairman of Bayelsa State Internal Revenue Board.

Abraham Ingobere, other State Lawmakers, immediate past Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboriagboha John Jonah, Rtd., Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye, Chief of Staff Government House, Dr. Peter Akpe, Deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Mr. Iroromidie Komonibo, Chairman of Bayelsa State PDP, Hon. Solomon Agwana, former SSGs, LGA Caucus Chairmen of PDP, senior citizens of Bayelsa State and other top government functionaries.
