I OWE NOBODY ANY APOLOGY FOR SUPPORTING SIR SIM FUBARA – AMB. CHIJIOKE
…Berates Nwanosike for causing crisis in Rivers State because he was not given a position in the State government.
The Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter and South-South zone, His Youthfulness, AMB. Chijioke Ihunwo has stated that he owes nobody any apology for supporting the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara. Stressing that Rivers youths asked him to stand with the Governor because he is a peaceful and compassionate man that loves young people.
The Chairman made this assertion when speaking on Wazobia FM 94.1 PH. Saying that the Ikwerre people have done sixteen years and five months, and leadership has shifted to the riverine and we must give them the necessary support.
“Our Governor is a man that loves peace and we align with whatever he is doing, and Rivers youths asked me to stand where am standing and their interest is what I will obey. I’m from Obio-Akpor local government, I would have said let me join my brother the former Governor who is the Minister of FCT, but I’m a servant to people and they want me to stand with the Governor. Ikwerre people have done their tenures for sixteen years and five months and power has moved to riverine, I don’t have any option.”
“Rivers people, we have a Governor that loves our State and we need to support him. And I owe nobody any apology. Whatever am doing is because the youths have asked me to support the Governor. Our people have done sixteen years and five months. Sir Omehia did five months, Rt. Hon. Amaechi did eight years, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike did eight years, now power has moved to the riverine, let us support them.”
When asked about making the political issue a tribal issue.
The Chairman’s response: “The former Governor supported the current Governor and after then, we don’t know what happened and we are still asking the question, ‘what is the offence of Sir Fubara that they want to impeach him’. Nobody has answered us. For me, we stand by the Governor who is a riverine man, and by the grace of God he can’t be removed as the Governor of Rivers State. We didn’t say that the former Governor didn’t support him, you can also ask those calling into your station what is the offence of Sir Fubara. Till now nobody has told us. It’s not about tribe, it’s nature. You have done your own tenure. Allow him to do his own and bring his idea on how the State can be developed.”
When asked about Hon. Samuel Nwanosike the Chairman of Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State who insulted Sir Siminalayi Fubara the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
The Chairman responded: “The man Samuel Nwanosike is my friend, we know ourselves. He can’t point out to say this is what I have done, but I can tell Rivers people this is what Samuel Nwanosike is doing. Everybody knows him in terms of his character, we will address him properly when the time comes. On the issue of insulting the Governor of Rivers State, you are a media person, have you ever heard that I insulted Wike that he is a mumu Governor. Let me tell Rivers people that Samuel Nwanosike is among those that are part of this crisis because he was not given Deputy Governor, he was not given Chief of Staff, he was not given Secretary to the State Government and he continue to carry rumours and propaganda against Sir Fubara.”
“When Sir Fubara emerged as the candidate of People’s Democratic Party, there was a choice for an upland Deputy Governor, Samuel Nwanosike told me that he want to be a Deputy Governor and he didn’t get it, he said he wants to be Chief of Staff and didn’t also get it. One don’t need to be desperate because it’s God that gives power. He wanted to resign as a local government Chairman to become Deputy Governor or Chief of Staff, since he didn’t get it he started causing crisis.”
“Chief Nyesom Wike doesn’t trust Samuel Nwanosike that was why he didn’t give him any of these positions because he is a very desperate person. Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is my elder brother we are from the same local government and he can’t trust Samuel Nwanosike that’s why he didn’t give him any of these positions. If he had given him any of the positions, what is happening now would have been the primary compared to what Samuel Nwanosike would have done. Everybody knows him as someone who is very desperate.”
“Rivers people knows Samuel Nwanosike as a man that loves power and that’s why he is fuelling the crisis in Rivers State. How can someone insult the Governor of Rivers State, i have never insulted Wike,” he said.
