Konstantinos Rizos (1880 – 1927)
From the eastern Macedonian town of Drama, he was a Macedonian Fighter and Warlord, during the Macedonian Struggle (1904-08).
After initially operating around the towns and villages of his home region of eastern Macedonia, the attention of Konstantinos Rizos, as well as significant numbers of other Macedonian Fighters, focused westward.
The majority of the battles and engagements of the Macedonian Struggle, were in and around the towns and villages of western Macedonia.
Rizos operated mainly throughout the areas of Grevena and Florina, during the 4-year Struggle.
His main contribution during the Macedonian Struggle, is his personal defence of the village of Samarina, near the border between Macedonia and Epirus. Here, Rizos along with his force of fighters, defended the village and its inhabitants, from multiple attacks and incursions from the Bulgarians and the Turks.
