Northern Youth commends passage of student loan bill, passes vote of confidence on Tinubu
The Progressive Northern Youth Forum has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating an unalloyed commitment to the socioeconomic advancement of the region. Recall that a section of some Northern Elders had few days ago, declared their regret for casting their votes for President Bola Tinubu in the last Presidential Election.
Not only that, the Youth said the President’s endorsement of the Student Loan (Access to Higher Education) (Repeal and Re-enactment) Act, 2024 will enhance the implementation of the Higher Education Student Loan Scheme by improving the management structure of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELF)
It also added that President Tinubu has recognized the potential of youths saying his initiatives, such as vocational training programs, scholarships, and youth empowerment schemes, empower young Northerners will contribute meaningfully to society. The Youth commended President Tinubu’s policies and appointments of its illustrious sons and daughters into key positions.
The leaders of the forum from the 19 Northern states, who converged in Abuja for a two-day conference to deliberate on the state of the nation, made known their position in a communique made available to Journalists in Abuja.
Signed by its national president, Hon. Isah Usman Jabbi, the youths said President Tinubu’s economic policies have fostered growth, job creation, and investment which resonates with the aspirations of the North. It added that the President has taken the necessary steps to address the issue of security across the region.
