He urged both the council boss and the FCT minister to consider joining APC

The former caretaker chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State Prof. Lawrence Chuku, yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the office of the executive chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State Hon. Barr. George Ariolu. The visit which was characterised by synergistic tendencies for the benefit of the good people of Obio/Akpor was received with ebullience by the executive chairman of council Hon. Barr. George Ariolu and his plethora of staffs at the council headquarters, Rumuodomaya, PH.

Prof. Lawrence Chuku in his remark, commended Barr. Ariolu for his array of quality projects which has impacted the people, especially the youths of the LGA positively, citing tangibly the Post Graduate Scholarship and Infrastructural expansion in every area of the LGA.

Speaking further, Prof. Lawrence elucidated on the immensity of the benefits accrueable with educational investments in a society, citing education as a panacea for economic growth. He said:
“As an educationist, I know that the benefit of giving youths the opportunity and platform to acquire advanced degrees can never be overemphasised. By sponsoring youths for Masters and PhD degrees, you facilitate the production of professionals and encourage innovation in the LGA.

Prof. Chuku also lauded the non-partisan approach to leadership of the executive chairman, alluding unity of purpose of a people as the only elixir for sustenance of the development that Obio/Akpor LGA enjoys. He urged the chairman to keep up the good work, as he has no doubt in his ability to do more for the people of the local government.

Prof. Chuku however highlighted that the purpose of his visit is not limited to the acknowledgement of the progressive works of the executive chairman of Obio/Akpor Council but to also implore him and the FCT minister, fomer governor Nyesom wike to consider pitching tent with the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, as the new wave in the party provides a place for all and sundry.

The executive chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA Hon. Barr. George Ariolu in his reaction thanked Prof. Chuku and his team for the visit, recognising Prof. Lawrence as a man of wisdom who’s always be outstanding and upright in his endeavours, hence the genuine loyalty and followership he still enjoys from his people despite the APC being out of power for almost a decade now. He assures that the office of the chairman of council is, and will always be open for good counsel and collaboration, which is needed for fostering the much needed unity in Obio/Akpor local government area.

Speaking further, Barr. Ariolu reiterated his loyalty to the strategic leader of the honourable minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike, referencing the minister as a liberal leader who has no problem identifying with peace and progress.
