A police signal seen by journalists , indicates that a police Inspector, Rasheed Adegbite, who was attached to the SPU and was supposed to be with the bullion van travelled without permission.
Adegbite, who was said to have travelled, on Tuesday, to Igbo-Ora in Oyo State, according to the signal, has been arrested for interrogation.

Another source however said Inspector Adegbite took permission from the deceased DFA before traveling to Oyo State.

Adegbite was said to have informed the DFA to contact him if his service was needed, in order to contact other team members in the SPU.

These revelation could not be verified, as at the time of filling this report.

While correspondence could not ascertain whether the huge cash was in connection with the 2024 budget presentation by Governor Dapo Abiodun to the Ogun State House of Assembly, later on Thursday, it could also not be confirmed what the huge cash was meant for.

A statement by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, after the incident, confirmed that the robbers shot Oyekan on his two laps.

He was also reportedly injured in his private part while he was rushed to the hospital before giving up the ghost.

“The bullion van, registered under the number X pilot 13, was transporting the Director of Finance, Taiwo Oyenekan, along with the driver, Olalekan Akintoye, and Peter Samson.
