SKIRT OF IMMORALITY

Chapter 5

And while trying to withdraw my steps from the guy, I suddenly saw myself on the ground because I was sleeping on the down bunk.

I opened my eyes, realizing that it was all a dream and nobody was watching, I quickly got back on the bed but still feeling shy.

It was morning and then I had to prepare myself early as to locate the class for my morning lectures but before then my new friend had prepared tea and bread already and shared it with me while the other girls were still sleeping.

We quickly got ready and went our separate ways for lectures. I got into the class and was lucky to find a seat close to the second row. We waited few minutes before the lecturer came in. Several topics were dealt with. Everything looked and sounded new to me but then they were all interesting. I loved learning.

I also suddenly realized that guys were all looking towards myself. I felt shy at first but then I had to concentrate.

After some hours of thorough lectures, the lecturer left and then as if it was planned, guys began to approach me one after the other.

Some of them came with music scopes, some came with spoken words scopes, some came with dance scopes. A lot of characters. At first I felt tired of everything but then I learnt to enjoy it. It was all funny and those actions created some bad energy between me and other girls.

One thing was certain, I wasn’t the most beautiful girl in that class and it wasn’t like I was the only fresher. We were all freshers. So the more I thought about it, the more I couldn’t understand why the guys kept coming.

After a while, the whole thing became an entertainment to everyone in the class. We began to laugh and laugh and laugh.

“Was this the fun Cynthia told me about?”

I asked myself after remembering our neighbours daughter telling me of how her university days was brilliant and fun. She always talked about how she enjoyed herself and so I tried to relate it to what I was experiencing in class at that time.

You needed to be there that day. The boys kept making the whole class laugh. A passerby will definitely think we were bunch of not-serious students and that person may have been right.

Suddenly, the class began to go quiet. You could immediately tell that something was happening. I faced my front and then lo and behold RICHARD was standing before the whole class.

At first I thought he was a student not until he spoke. That was when I realized he was a LECTURER in my department.
