Super Eagles: Ex-international takes over from Peseiro
Former Nigerian defender Augustine Eguavoen has been named the interim head coach of the Super Eagles following the expiration of Jose Peseiro’s contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.
Eguavoen, the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation, will be assisted by Finidi George, who also worked with Peseiro.
Eguavoen, who has served the country as coach at various international levels, last coached the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where the team lost to Tunisia in the Round of 16.
