*The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa,* has approved the recruitment of one thousand teachers into the public secondary schools of the State.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Teaching Service Commission, Mrs Funmilayo Akinola and made available to newsmen by the Head of Press and Media Relations Unit of the State Teaching Service Commission, Goodluck Akinyomi, only applicants with the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and holders of Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply for the following subjects:

Accounting, Agricultural Science, Biology, Business Studies, Basic Science and Technology, Cultural and Creative Arts, Chemistry, Christian Religious Studies, Computer Science, Economics, English language Studies, Food and Nutrition, French language, Geography, Government, History, Islamic studies, Mathematics, Physics, Social Studies, Special Education and Yoruba language.

The portal to apply is recruitment.ondotescom.com.ng starting from today, Tuesday, April 9, to Saturday, April 13, 2024.

“Entry closes on Saturday, 13th April, 2024. No double entry, please.” the statement read.

The statement further added that teachers to be recruited must be ready to teach in the public Secondary Schools in the rural areas of the State for five years at least before they could be transferred to other schools when the need arises.

Mrs Akinola, who further stressed that no teacher would be employed by the Commission through “back door” noted that the teachers to be employed must have very good scores in the aptitude test in the recruitment interview.
