CHAPTER 10 (THE DECEIT)

What the fuck is that? It was night, it was dark but then I could easily see and know that the very thing that fell from Suzan’s leather bag was a head (a human head) still dripping blood.

I almost shouted but then, I had to cover up my mouth with my both hands because I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

Now, it is certain that all the bags being dropped by the other people contains human parts and that means they actually killed people to get their parts.

“Suzan” I subconsciously called her name. Then I saw how a truck came and then they carried all the bags and left with it.

I quickly ran away from where I was hiding before one of them catch up with me.

I was fast enough to enter the house before Suzan did. I pretended to be sleeping and then she entered, looked at me for a while before she pulled of one of the clothes we bought at the Mall sometimes back (it was black body hug shirt and a brown trouser with a black hat that carried a silver lining on it) she fell on the bed and slept off.

I couldn’t sleep. I kept turning and turning on the bed but still yet I couldn’t sleep.

“Why are you dozing off?” Kate asked me as I was dozing in the lecture hall.

“I couldn’t sleep last night”

“Why?”

I kept quiet and then all what I saw last night came fresh to my memory. I could remember every detail of it.

“Tell me why you couldn’t sleep” she insisted

“Well, yesterday at night, I saw something that made me to almost swallow my own tongue”

“Really? What could that be?”

“Let’s talk after lectures today”

“Alright!”

While lectures were going on, my mind was far away. I kept trying to imagine the scenario again and again.

We finally finished lectures for the day (yes, I said finally because I couldn’t wait to at least tell Kate what I saw last night. I needed someone to talk to) and then it was as if Kate was also eager to hear my story.

She came to me and then dragged me out of the class. We stopped at my favourite site, which was under the big Oak tree.

“I’m all ears” she said and so I told her everything that had happened but then I noticed she was not as shocked as I was.

“So, what are you going to do now?”

“I don’t know o… I guess I will just pretend I never saw it”

“Hmmm… Precious, let me just come out clean to you. Suzan will put you in deep trouble if you don’t quit your friendship with her”

“What do you mean?”

“Precious are you kidding me? All these while I’d been giving you hints on the situation you are in with Suzan but you still don’t understand it?”

“Yes, I agree that she is not a good person or a good friend at all but she has never hurt me. She always seems to be nice to me and that is why I can’t just break up the friendship”

“Well, it’s your life. I can’t tell you how to go about your own life. Just be careful”

“I will and thank you for being a friend”

“It’s nothing”

“I’m so hungry, I have to cook”

“I have a group study to attend in a few minutes time”

We both stood up at the same time.

“Catch you up later”

“Bye Precious”

I walked away but I could feel that Kate was still standing there looking at me as I walked away.

I walked so fast because I was so hungry but little did I know that trouble was waiting for me at home.
