WE BOTH DIED AT THE END

CHAPTER 11
(THE BEGINNING OF CHAOS)

On getting to the hostel, I saw people gathered outside and that baffled me because it was impossible to see people that much outside the hostel.

And so I entered and then somebody mentioned my name.

“There she is!”

Everybody turned and were looking at me. I was amazed because I didn’t know what was happening.

Two strange guys came out of the crowd and stared at me for a while before I heard the most shocking thing.

“We gave you a leather bag last night and you promised to send us our balance but you didn’t”

“Me? Balance? How? Do we even know each other?”

The second guy began to laugh out so loud that the other two joined him.

“Even when we’ve told you that we don’t joke with our money, you still didn’t send it”

“Who are you people? I don’t know you guys”

“She is still pretending. Isn’t this the same dress she wore last night?” one of the guys asked

“Yes and also the same cap with silver lining. You can’t fool us”

“She doesn’t even change clothes. Come on give us our money!”

Suddenly, a lecturer was passing by and then he branched to see what was happening. People were beginning to say things and I knew I was doomed for something I had nothing to do with.

Wait a minute, did the guy just described my dress? That means he saw it somewhere?

Oh what the fuck am I even thinking about? Of cause it was Suzan! She wore that same dress to collect the leather bag from them that night and why on earth am I wearing the same dress today of all days?

“What is happening here?” The lecturer asked

“Precious is owing us for a business we did for her and she is proving stubborn”

The lecturer turned towards me.

“Are you the Precious?”

“Yes Sir”

“Why haven’t you settled them? And what kind of business will a student like you do with these guys?”

“Sir, I don’t even know them”

“You don’t know wh…”

“You all should come to my office” the Lecturer cuts in and then we followed him to his office while I could also hear people saying all sorts of things against me. My heart was bleeding already because Suzan isn’t even around.

We got to his office.

“So, what is it?”

“Sir, this lady here always come to us to get some things for her which we can’t mention but she constantly refuses to pay us whenever we get the things for her”

“Sir I can swear that I don’t know this people. I’m serious sir”

“But how comes they know you and even know your name?”

“I don’t know Sir but it wasn’t me”

“Sir, to show you that we are not lying, check her recent clothes, they all carry her name Precious. We didn’t ask her for her name because we saw her name already on the dress she wears to come see us”

That was true. My recent dresses carry my name. I did that to different my dress from Suzan’s dress since we had the same type of dresses and that was when I realized that all these while, Suzan had been going to do her dirty deals while wearing my own dress.
