WE BOTH DIED AT THE END CHAPTER 17 (THE EVIDENCE)

WE BOTH DIED AT THE END

CHAPTER 17 (THE EVIDENCE)

“My name is Suzan Lawrence. A student of Mass Communication. It is true that I bought those clothes but I didn’t intentionally buy the same kind of clothes just to do something outrageous with it. All the things that Precious said regarding I and my father here is a big lie. You can ask him yourself Sir. I am a serious student and this baba here is more like a father to me. We’ve known each other for a very long time and that is why I don’t feel pressure because I know I am not guilty of all the accusations”

Suzan said those words, looked at me in a strange way and then she sat down. I couldn’t take my eyes off her in disbelief. Like how on the earth did I fins myself in this position? Did I trust too much? Was I careless? God please help me. I turned and looked at Kate but Kate kept having her eyes closed in different times.

“Now that we’ve heard from both parties, I think it is time we involve your parents” the VC said while more tears continued to flow down my cheeks.

Oh God, what do I do?

“Bring your parents to this hall tomorrow morning let’s say around 10am and make sure you have evidences because I think the Panel here will need it”

Suzan raised her hand.

“Yes, do you have anything to say?”

“Yes Sir, we have an evidence to show that it was Precious that went to do those dirty deals that night and not me”

“Really?”

“Yes Sir. Oh, thank God there’s light! We need to use the projector because we have it in a flash drive”

Suzan turned and looked at me. I was shocked! Evidence? How? If not that I knew myself, I would have start thinking that maybe it was me that went out that night and not Suzan. Maybe my mind was playing a joke with me but I knew that it wasn’t me. I was the one that followed her not the other round and if that is right, where the hell did she get an evidence from?

I tapped at Kate but Kate was still quiet. She has not said a word since we started the meeting. Is she meditating? Is she observing? Is she…

“Here is the flash Sir” Suzan gave the flash to the lecturer who in turn went to the media box and switched on the projector, inserted the flash drive into the system while I sat down not knowing what to expect. I turned and then I caught Kate looking at Suzan in a very strange way and Suzan was also looking at her in a strange way.

Almost immediately, the video came on and I saw lady which was suppose to be me, the lady was dressed in the same dress that Suzan wore to the place that night and the customization of my name was vivid on the dress.

One thing brought mixed feelings to my mind. Everything that happened that day was what was showing in the video but the only difference was that instead of Suzan, I was the one there.

Like I was the one there. My face was there. I was the one giving an old man my own leather bag and not Suzan.

Everybody except Kate turned and were looking at me with disgust. I placed my hands on my hear because one thing is clear now, I am finished. None of them will believe my story.

“Sir, this video is fake! I am innocent Sir. Please you have to believe me” I was standing and already in tears

“So even with a videoed evidence, you are still denying what you did right?” The VC asked

“Sir, I swear with the God of heaven, it wasn’t me. Please sir, you have to believe me please Sir”

“This meeting ends now. Bring your parents tomorrow by 10am and then we shall take further actions. Mr. Bright, please hold on to the flash and bring it tomorrow”

“Yes Sir” the lecturer responded and then they all left.

I was left with Suzan, Kate and the old man. Suzan came over to me

“You’ve not seen anything yet”

I got up and wanted to rush her but Kate held me and then they left while I stood down and was crying bitterly.
