DRINKERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (DAN) BARS MEMBERS FROM FOREIGN LIQUOR AS NIGERIAN BREWERIES INCREASE PRICES

DRINKERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (DAN) BARS MEMBERS FROM FOREIGN LIQUOR AS NIGERIAN BREWERIES INCREASE PRICES.

…SET TO PATRONIZE LOCAL LIQUOR ( PALM WINE).

Following the upward review of the cost of some foreign non alcoholic beverages such as beer, a body of organised drinkers ( not drunks or drunkards , mind you!) has issued stern warnings to their members over the indiscriminate hike in non alcoholic beverages . This body was enraged that as stakeholders in the beer sector , the Nigeria Breweries would have considered reaching out to its members before taking such an unholy action .

However, barring last minutes change of mind, the association is considering a showdown against the Nigeria Breweries by calling out on the members for a strike action . Members of DAN are warned not to drink any foreign beer especially any stock from Breweries until there is an unconditional reversal of prices to the status quo . As a way forward , the national president has delegated a high powered team to visit Etche Breweries to ensuring a steady and uninterrupted supplies of palm wine at a subsidised rate and affordable prices .

While the members of DAN are so pained about this development , their wives are strongly in support of Nigeria Breweries and have called out on the liquor firms to doubly review the prices so that their hubbies could curtail their expenses on non alcoholic beverages . In another development , Smokers Association of Nigeria ( SAN) has declared a solidarity march for their brethren in DAN.

Furthermore, other support groups in league with DAN are Side chicks Ladies of Nigeria ( SLN) and Girl Friends Association ( GFA). They frown at the astronomic rise in cost of running bottles because this would definitely affect the money which will get to them at the end of every escapade with their ” zaddies “. There is a Nationwide planned protest to press home their demands of not starving them .

Nigeria may be engulfed in series of protests in the coming days if no proper action is instituted to deal with all these concerns . All efforts to reach out to people in government failed at the time of compiling this report .
