Mrs (Chief) Olufunmilayo Ransome-Kuti with Alabi-isama, A.K.A The lionesses of Lisabi. Being the wife of Israel Oludotun Ransome-Kuti, the much respected educationist, father of Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti and the pioneering President of the then newly formed Nigeria Union of Teachers- She was instrumental in helping lots of kids start their early education in Ibadan, Lagos, Abeokuta and other parts of the then Western Nigeria. Alabi-isama is one of such beneficiaries.
Currently, Funmilayo; The lionesses of Lisabi, a film on the life and times of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti is currently in principal photography in Abeokuta, Ogun state. It is being directed by ace theatre entrepreneur and filmmaker Bolanle Austen-Peters of Terrakulture.
It includes special appearances from her grandchildren Femi Kuti, Yeni Kuti playing her Aunt Dolupo, Dotun Ransome Kuti playing his dad Olikoye, Kunle Ransome-Kuti playing his dad Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, and great-grandson Made Kuti.
