N-POWER, HOME GROWN SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMMES, OTHERS SUSPENDED
The N-Power Programme, Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme and Home Grown School Feeding Programme have been suspended.
These Programmes are administered by the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) that is currently under investigation for financial misappropriation.
A statement signed by the Director of Information, Segun Imohiosen, for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, said the suspension was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The suspension, which is sequel to operational lapses and improprieties surrounding payments to the beneficiaries of the Programmes, is expected to be reviewed after six weeks.
Already, a ministerial panel has been constituted to conduct a thorough review of the Agency’s operations with a view to recommending necessary reforms of the NSIPA.
