Nigeria Police Bust Counterfeit Syndicates In Gombe, Recover $56,300, N265,000
The police in Gombe State, Northeast Nigeria on Thursday arrested 12 members of two syndicates involved in counterfeiting.
The suspects were found in possession of $56,300 and N265,000 counterfeit notes.
The suspects comprise six members from each group involved in the counterfeiting.
According to the police, the syndicates have been printing counterfeit dollar and naira notes.
ASP Mahid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the state police command said the suspects were arrested in the Bajoga, Funakaye and Dukku local government areas of the state.
