THE END OF DAYS

CHAPTER 2 (THE UNKNOWN)

Suddenly, a shout was heard. It was from a woman who just found out that her seat partner is no where to be found but his clothes were in his seat.

Miss Monica quickly ran to the woman and asked what was wrong.

“Look! My partner is not here but the clothes he wore are here”

It was then all of the passengers noticed that some of their seat partners were gone.

All the passengers began to panic and then the place became so noisy. Miss Monica became confused and then she ran to all the restrooms on the plane but then she finally realized that with the number of passengers that had disappeared, there was no way they all would be in the restroom at the same time and so she decided to meet the pilot to tell him what was happening.

On opening the cockpit door, she found the pilot dumbfounded. She noticed the plane was on autopilot and then she also saw that the copilot was not on seat but his white uniform was on his seat.

“Sir, a very terrible thing has happened and I don’t know how it happened. Many passengers have disappeared but they left their clothes on their seats”

But the Pilot was quiet. It appears he was not even listening. His attention wasn’t even with her at first.

“Sir!”

He looked at her.

“My copilot just disappeared, just like that” he finally spoke

“How Sir?” She asked

“We were talking and then… And then before I could blink my eyes, he just disappeared. Like I couldn’t believe what I witnessed”

“What do I do about the passengers? They are in great panic”

“Please go there and calm them down. Just create an excuse for them”

“Excuse? You know they are not children but Sir isn’t this the very thing called RAPTURE?”

Mr. Enoch laughed.

“What do you mean by rapture?”

“Sir, don’t tell me you’ve not heard about it before even in church”

“Well, I have but I don’t believe in that shit. It’s all rubbish because there’s no way a supreme being will just make some humans disappear just because they are holy or whatever it is”

“Well, I don’t know about that as I am not a church person but we really have to calm them down now Sir”

“Alright, let’s go. I will talk to them myself”

And so, they left the cockpit.

“Please I will advice all passengers to remain on their seats and please do not panic. I will head over to the cockpit now and contact the tower so as to know what’s going on but before then, please do not panic and remain positive. Thank you”

He went back to the cockpit and then he phoned the tower.

“What is the situation on ground?”

But there was no answer. He tried getting answer but he couldn’t. Network signals were becoming terrible as he couldn’t reach the tower and that got him worried and so after thinking through it, he decided to land the plane.

I was in the boss when all of a sudden about half of the people in the bus disappeared and left their clothes on their seats.

We that were left behind were very scared. So scared that we all shouted in fear. The driver had to pack the bus first because we then realized that everywhere around us was becoming hazardous.

Cars, bikes etc were getting accidents. Some vehicles were crashing on their own without a driver. People were dieing all around us. We had to exit the bus and to our amazement, the whole place was filled with dead people, crashed vehicles, people confused and shouting all over the place.

“Have you seen my child? I was taking a walk with him but then he suddenly disappeared” a woman said to me with tears in her eyes

“No Ma’am, I guess you are not the only one in this situation” I replied while thinking deeply. Was this what my mother always call the RAPTURE? Was the right? She had never stopped talking about how holy Christians would make the rapture when the trumpet blows but how’s that even possible logically. Wait a minute, did my Mom and sis disappear? If yes, does that mean only I and my dad will remain?

Pilot Enoch was finally able to reach the tower and the news he got wasn’t a pleasant one. It was then he began to slightly believe what his wife kept talking to him about.

He related it to the passengers. The earth was in chaos. Everywhere was scattered. There were accidents everywhere. Drivers were disappearing, leaving the vehicles driving themselves, children were missing, men and women were missing. The whole earth was in pain.

People were finding it hard to locate their love ones. People couldn’t drive with their vehicles because there were no spaces. Everywhere was jam packed.

What a day in the history of humanity.
