THE END OF DAYS CHAPTER 5 (THE GROUP)

THE END OF DAYS

CHAPTER 5 (THE GROUP)

I stood, looking frustrated from what I’d seen through out the day. I looked at my father and I could tell that the situation was upon every human.

He got up and hugged me in which I responded and then we both began to cry. We could both feel the emptiness of our heart.

While still hugging him, my eyes caught what was showing in the television.

“Dad, what are you watching?” I asked

He released me slowly.

“The disc was left by your Mom to us. She hid it inside the spare Bible. I came home but couldn’t find them except their clothes and then after much thinking, I wanted finding out more about the rapture and so I came across a later she wrote to me and also the disc”

“What is it about?”

“The disc?”

“Yes”

“Well, I think the Pastor of the new church she was attending decided to record some instructions to his members that may be left out of the rapture”

“So you think what happened today is rapture?”

“I don’t really know for sure but I believe it is. Your mother wouldn’t let me rest about it and if it isn’t rapture, then what is it?”

I walked to the couch and sat down and then he followed me.

“Maybe alien invasion?”

My dad smiled and then he sat down directly opposite me.

“Well, I saw how the Government are busy debunking the possibility of the events being rapture but then I remembered your mother telling me that some people won’t agree that it is rapture and the government and media would bring their own different suggestions”

“So what do we do next?”

“We have to study the Bible to find out things for ourselves and we also have to visit the new church your mother was attending”

“I’m not going anywhere dad. I still don’t believe in any of these. Worst of all going to that church”

“Manan, this is not the time for pride or stubbornness or ignorance. It will only be good for us if we could get more answers for ourselves”

“Dad, you can go alone. I’m not going. I need to rest”

I got up and walked to my room. I tried calling Abel but it wasn’t going through. Suddenly, I became emotional. I was missing my Mom and my kid sister.

“Why would the aliens pick my mother and sister? Because I don’t it is what dad is trying to believe. If not, I know of good people that are still alive. Oh gosh! This thing is confusing”

I slept for a while and then I went out to the sitting room just to find my dad watching the news. I hated to watch news but then, it became interesting due to the fact that the world became upsidedown.

The Government confirmed that a lot of people had either disappeared or died. Nurses, doctors, drivers, pilots, media personnel and many other kind of people. The Government also confirmed that volunteers are needed. I could see how people were busy clearing roads, moving dead bodies, the whole place was just in a mess.

“I must visit that church tomorrow” My dad said but I kept quiet.

It was morning. I got up and dressed. On coming down, I saw my dad getting ready to go to the church.

“Manan, why are you so dressed this early morning? Where are you heading to?”

“I’d decided to follow you to the church”

“For real?”

“Yes but don’t even think I accept your theories and there’s nothing about repentance for me because I don’t believe in it”

“Then why do you want to visit the church with me?”

“Well, I just don’t want you to be lonely”

I could see how emotional my dad was trying to be but I made him hurry up and then we left.

On getting to the church, we saw a lot of people on the church floor, crying their eyes out and we became confused as to what was happening.

People of all ages were just on the floor some were rolling and crying, while others were standing and hitting themselves. All we could hear was “God have mercy”
