THE END OF DAYS

CHAPTER 9 (THE PROPHESY)

It was time for the meeting and the media houses had promised to show it live on television and also broadcast it live on radio stations. I’d never been interested in anything related to news or politics but for some reasons, it felt as if my life and the life of other people is dependent on the outcome of the meeting.

I and my father sat on the couch while we watch how the meeting hall was being arranged as the set time drew closer.

“Please, don’t forget the food on fire” my dad said

“I won’t. It should be ready soonest”

Mr. Albert couldn’t stop thinking about the new UN permanent Secretary (Potentate Lucius) and how he relates to the Antichrist. He was in the Pastor’s office and that was because he doesn’t feel like going home.

He felt lonely at home. His wife and child had been raptured and then he thought there could be no better time and place to study and learn the Scriptures than the Pastor’s office.

The office had everything he wanted. There were books of all kinds, Bible concordance, Bible dictionary, Bible commentary, laptop, jotters, pens. The church had comfy rooms and so he thought there was no better place to be than the church.

He couldn’t wait for the meeting to start because that was the key to solve half of what he knew regarding the prophecy in the Bible.

It was time and then all the sitting members were introduced. The whole thing they were doing, it was all confusing at first and that was because I didn’t know what they were doing but one thing stood out for me; the Permanent Secretary was really a cute man. Very elegant and I could feel his humility within me.

I got up and went to dish out the food I was cooking and then I remembered my mother while I was dishing out the food. She would have wanted me to cook it and dish it but I usually refuse to do any of it and I wished she was present, I wouldn’t have mind cooking and dishing out the food.

I hurriedly took the food and went back but they’ve started already and the Potentate was addressing the people. After several discussions, the meeting ended with the most important detail and that was every country, should submit 90% of their national weapons and keep 10% and the reason the Potentate gave was that by doing so, countries wouldn’t have enough firepower to fight each other.

It sounded like wisdom to everyone. We could see how astonishing his idea was. It sounded perfect and it was obvious that people liked the idea.

The reporters began to get comments from people and it was all positive.

Mr. Albert wasn’t moved by the brilliance of the Potentate because what he just said only became consistent with his theories regarding the Antichrist. He noted something down and then he switched off the television and began to pray.

While he was praying, he felt the need to establish a closed group. A group of believers coming together with the soul aim of protecting the church, evangelising and also looking out for each other. He then decided to speak to one or two people about it next time the church meets.

“I don’t know why my spirit doesn’t agree with this man”

“He seems like a nice man”

“Yea, but it looks like fake. Like nothing about him is real. His story doesn’t even sound ordinary”

“Dad! Judging him won’t do you any good. Besides, the man is trying his best to bring solutions that would give us lasting peace”

“Peace? The Bible says ‘Jesus is the Prince of Peace’ we can only find peace in Jesus because the world would only give us trouble”

“Dad, this Bible thing won’t help any of us. Reality is different from the Bible”

“Manan, you….”

We suddenly heard breaking news from the television.
